The Eldorado Arts & Crafts Association is pleased to share that EACA member Elaine Duncan will be featured in the upcoming group exhibition Strata–AfterImage, on view during July and August at the Muñoz Waxman Gallery at the Center for Contemporary Arts (CCA) in Santa Fe.

The exhibition opens with a reception on Friday, July 3, 2026, from 5:00 to 8:00 PM, offering visitors an opportunity to experience a diverse collection of contemporary artwork and meet participating artists.
Elaine's abstract paintings explore movement, rhythm, and texture through expressive mark-making and layered surfaces. Often incorporating sand into her work, she creates richly textured compositions that blur the boundaries between painting, gesture, and physical experience. Her artistic process is deeply intuitive and immersive.
"I find painting to be a dynamic, choreographic experience, a partnership between myself, the paint and the canvas—where rhythm, texture, and movement intertwine. This surrender to the moment is deeply gratifying," says Duncan.
Two of Elaine's works will be included in the exhibition. Lahaina (2023), a 30" x 40" acrylic and sand composition, and Dance #10 (2019), a 36" x 48" acrylic and sand painting, both exemplify her fascination with motion, texture, and the energy of abstraction.

Elaine received her BFA from New York University and has exhibited throughout Colorado and New Mexico. Her work has also been featured in publications including Vogue and Aesthetica Magazine.
EACA congratulates Elaine on this exciting exhibition and encourages members and visitors to attend the opening reception and support one of our talented artists.
