The Eldorado Arts & Crafts Association is pleased to invite special guest speaker James Johnson, Executive Director of MAKE Santa Fe to our next General Meeting featuring . James will present an inspiring and thought-provoking talk titled, “To Be Creative Is To Create.”
In this engaging presentation, James explores the idea that creativity is not simply a talent we are born with, but a practice we strengthen through action, experimentation, and persistence. Drawing from his experiences as a designer, fabricator, and community builder, he reflects on how failed attempts, unfinished projects, and imperfect outcomes are often the very foundation of meaningful creative growth.

Through stories from the workshop, the theater, and the art studio, James reframes creativity as the act of continually showing up and choosing to create. His talk offers a powerful perspective on iteration, embracing imperfection, and the importance of supportive creative spaces like MAKE Santa Fe in helping artists and makers thrive.
Whether you are a professional artist, hobbyist, or simply curious about the creative process, this promises to be an inspiring evening filled with insight, encouragement, and community connection.
