Susan Brown

Susan Brown is a New Mexico based mix-media artist whose work explores storytelling, transformation, and the expressive power of handmade objects. Working in painting, collage, sculpture, and textile arts, she creates layered works that blend fine art, folk traditions, and personal mythology. A distinctive aspect of Brown’s practice is her creation of whimsical papier-mâché and cloth figures. Combining hand-painted forms with textiles, beads, found objects, and recycled materials, she constructs character-driven sculptures that evoke animals, spirits, and imagined beings.
