I have been active in art for many years now and I have been involved in the studio tour for the last eighteen years. I initially worked with ceramics, both wheel thrown and hand built. I began combining ceramics with steel to produce more abstract sculptural elements. The sculptures became larger, and moved outdoors as landscape elements. I transitioned to building fused glass and metal pieces about four years ago. I formulated my own glazes for the ceramics, but nothing captures light as vividly as transparent glass. Most of my sculptures use transparent colored glass to maximize them show of light produced when the sun shines through the sculpture and plays along a wall or across the ground. I like to transition from one form to another. Some of my sculptures are based on simple abstract forms while others are more anthropomorphic.
