Marilyn Wightman

Marilyn Wightman works exclusively in pastels.  The pure color that she layers appeals to her ability to represent the southwest landscape. She does much of her work plein air and her studio work is often inspired by plein air studies. The neutral colors and textures of the southwest landscape are intertwined to reflect the serenity and delight she finds in the Santa Fe area. She received an art education degree from Miami University in Oxford, OH and has taken a variety of workshops and classes to extend her knowledge of pastel painting. Marilyn is a member of Plein Air Painters of New Mexico, a signature member of the Pastel Society of New Mexico, and a member of the Eldorado Arts and Crafts Association.  She is represented by Tresa Vorenberg Goldsmiths on Canyon Road in Santa Fe.
