After retiring from a 40-year career in the corporate world, I found myself exploring the creative possibilities of fiber arts. Sewing was a natural place to begin, as my mother taught me how to use a sewing machine when I was a child. What started as a hobby soon became a passion. I began creating and gifting upcycled denim wine bags, zippered pouches and fabric bowls to friends and family. Of all my creations, the fabric bowls have become especially popular because of their uniqueness and versatility. They can be both decorative and functional, adding color and character to any space. I am particularly drawn to repurposing textiles and giving them a second life. Much of the fabric I use comes from estate sales, thrift stores, flea markets and discarded clothing. Many of my bowls are crafted from recycled Indian sari garments, whose vibrant colors, patterns and history make each piece one of a kind. Every bowl reflects my love of sustainability and creativity.
