Jack McCarthy

I am basically a visual storyteller who uses prints as my vocabulary. My work is influenced by life experiences and, most importantly, my constant amazement in what humans believe in and how they choose to live their lives.I often refer to myself as an unfocused artist . . . and I love it! My approach to printmaking is incredibly diverse. Through the years, my focus has covered a vast range of subjects from the American Southwest, Alaskan Inuit mythology, Japanese Koi, Biblical stories, Erotica, and a myriad of other subjects. Over the years, I have published two limited edition handmade books: "Jonah Redux, the Book of Jonah According to Jack" and the other "Uncovered: a book of nudes". Finally, much of my work tends to be in-your-face and challenges the viewer with irony, whimsey, and surprise . . . as Art should!
