Greg Cohen

I’m a self-taught acrylic painter who also explores visual art in photography. In addition, I’m a published novelist with multiple novels at Amazon, as well as a musician. These multiple disciplines all work in concert, supporting and inspiring each of my creative endeavors. My original paintings range from figurative to whimsical, and depict a variety of subjects, but my goal is always that they make you smile. My photographs from my travels around the globe aim to capture “the decisive moment”. One of my fiction characters sums up my philosophy; “Here's the best thing about art, dear...it's not necessary. People can't survive without certain things: food, water, shelter, tools. No one ever died from art starvation, honey. It's not essential to the body, but it sure is to the soul. Art is something we're driven to do, not compelled." That belief fuels all of my work and is a unifying thread in my creative life.
