I started making cigar box guitars and amplifiers in 2020. My goal is to make homemade instruments that are sturdy and easy to play. I use cigar boxes collected from stores around the country. I let the artistry of each individual box dictate the design rather than painting or otherwise changing the aesthetics. I use hardwoods for the necks and fret boards. The guitars can be played acoustically, although each has a pickup to permit amplifying the sound when playing with louder instruments.
