Chris Cashiola

Influenced by the European Impressionists and Post-Impressionists, I strive to capture the color, light, and emotion of a scene rather than simply its physical details. Claude Monet's advice to paint the colors and shapes as they appear has long guided my approach. I enjoy painting outdoors whenever possible, using plein air studies as the foundation for finished works completed in the studio. Rather than seeking dramatic vistas, I find inspiration in ordinary landscapes, believing that simple subjects often reveal extraordinary beauty. Painting is a lifelong journey of discovery, with each canvas offering an opportunity to learn and grow. My love of nature continues to inspire my landscape paintings in oil, allowing me to express my appreciation for the beauty of the natural world. After careers in the U.S. Army Judge Advocate General's Corps and as a criminal appellate attorney, I retired from the practice of law to devote more time to painting.
