Bill Reed

My new work began as an exploration of the linear rhythms and abstract structure we know as song, resulting in a series of energetic, fine art drawings and mixed-media paintings. Through this process, I discovered a new visual language and an expressive mark-making approach, free from preconceived expectations of where the work might lead. Over the past several years I have continued to develop abstract drawings and mixed-media works using oil pastels, acrylics, and richly colored dyes. My art embraces spontaneity, rhythm and layered expression, welcoming viewers to experience movement and emotion through abstraction.
