Antone Forneris

Antone Forneris is a self-taught wood artist inspired by nature’s forms and stories. With formal training at the Arrowmont School for Arts and Crafts and mentorship from the Bell WoodTurners, he has honed his craft over decades. Antone works primarily with salvaged wood from local trees in North Florida, often fallen or removed due to storms or development. His signature "Silent Trees" series captures the unique character of each piece, highlighting natural cracks, grain, and voids. Through turning, carving, and symbolic burning, he preserves the wood’s inner spirit, creating sculptural forms that bring the forest indoors. His work celebrates the individuality of trees and invites viewers to reflect on nature’s quiet strength and beauty. Antone’s art bridges craft and sculpture, honoring the deep connection between mankind and the natural world.
