Pat Rasmussen

My work has evolved over the years as I try new techniques and materials. Most recently, I have been concentrating on 3D art. I use pyrography, carving, dyeing, painting and embellishments such as beads and pine-needle, paper coil or leather rims on my art gourds. Using wool fiber and a barbed needle, I create 3D sculptures of both woodland animals and human figures ranging from the whimsical to realistic. I enjoy teaching needle felting at John C. Campbell Folk School in NC.
