Karla Hackman

Karla Hackman creates sculptural and organic jewelry, exploring the asymmetry in nature & geometry. She integrates forging, piercing, chasing, & overlaying of metal w/cast forms in silver, 18K gold, & gems. In some cases, 23.5K overlay gold is added, using a Korean gilding technique, to create high contrast & interest. These designs are textured & highlighted with surface patina. Her work unites organic textures w/ modern lines, geometric forms, & negative space to create bold, wearable art.
