I started making cigar box guitars and amplifiers in 2020. My goal is to make homemade instruments that are sturdy and easy to play, using cigar boxes collected around the country. I let the artistry of each individual box dictate the design rather than painting or otherwise changing the aesthetics. The necks and fret boards are hand-built from hardwoods. The guitars can be played acoustically, although each has a pickup to permit amplifying the sound when playing with louder instruments.
