The Eldorado Arts and Crafts Association was formed 25 years ago by a small group of local artists who banded together to launch the first studio tour.
The non-profit association has grown to over 200 members in recent years, and provides monthly educational meetings, shop-talks, a plein air landscape group and a figure drawing group.
The EACA sponsors the May Studio Tour and the October Fall Show each year to provide a venue for artists living in the Eldorado community. The Eldorado Studio Tour is Santa Fe's largest studio tour. In fact, the Eldorado Studio Tour is the largest in the state. Each year the artists open their home studios to show their amazing art representing a wide spectrum of art media. In order for visitors to determine which studio to visit we encourage them to stop at the EACA Preview Gallery at the Eldorado Community Center. Signs and banners show the way to the center. There visitors can view work by each artist, pick up a comprehensive brochure including a map to all the studios and begin their visit to the studios of their choice. See link for the Studio Tour to the left to get more information.
The Fall Show, held in October, brings together a large number of EACA artists in a single venue at St John's United Methodist Church, 1200 Old Pecos Rd in Santa Fe, the weekend before Halloween. It's a great opportunity to jump-start your holiday shopping with fine arts and crafts from local artists. See link for the Fall Show to the left to get more information.
Through generous donations of the artists, the Studio Tour and Fall Show are able to help support local organizations. Past recipients have included Eldorado Fire and Rescue, Vista Grande Public Library, El Dorado Community School, and the Ken and Patty Adam Senior Center.
Businesses and individuals sponsor the Studio Tour that in turn provides advertising dollars to promote the tour. These sponsors have been the backbone of the Eldorado Studio Tour that allows the advertising and publicity committee to place print and radio ads from Taos to Albuquerque. We thank our sponsors for their generosity and urge our visitors to support these business sponsors who are listed in the tour brochure as well as the Studio Tour website.
If you would like to join our organization, please download the membership form, fill it out, and mail it to us. Full instructions are on the form. Studio Tour applications are generally sent out to all active members in mid to late December. Fall Tour applications are generally sent out to active members in early August. Anyone is welcome to join our organization. To be in the Studio Tour or Fall Show, you must live in one of the subdivisions (in the Eldorado area) with access from one of the three major entrances on the west side of US 285.
