Wearable Art, Pastel Paintings
My love of nature, color and textiles drives my creative focus and allows me to work in various genres. The wearable art pieces I produce showcase color combinations and textures in unusual organic designs. Every item is one-of-a-kind made from my own hand-dyed silks and wools, vintage fabrics and antique lace. I also incorporate unique items collected from my travels into each piece. I am inspired by the styles and motifs of the 1920s and 30s and weave those design elements into contemporary hats, handbags and clothing

My paintings focus on color as it is reflected in light and shadow in nature. I work predominantly in pastel, but I also do oil, mixed media and ceramic pieces. Most of my landscape paintings are done "plein air" on location in Alaska and New Mexico. I love to capture the low angle light of the arctic and the stunning colors of the desert Southwest..
I received my art training at the Boston Museum School, Tufts University, the University of Alaska, and the Paris - American Academy.
